Enlisted as a Private into Co. H, 83rd PA Infantry.
Pvt. Richard S. Harler
b. On Nov 4, 1838 in Hunterdon Co., NJ. Enlisted on Sept 1, 1861
at Peoria as a Private. On Oct 1, 1861 at Benton Barracks, Missouri
he mustered into Co. H, 47th Illinois Infantry. On Oct 11, 1864 he
was mustered out in Springfield IL. Age: 22; Description: 5' 10",
auburn hair, blue eyes, fair skin. Residence: Avon, Fulton Co. IL.
On Dec 10, 1907 he died in Chippewa Co., MN.
